When you are connected to NymVPN, you might encounter issues with sending emails and accessing Tor.
Why does this happen?
The Nym network has a built-in exit policy that restricts certain types of traffic. While Nym is against all forms of censorship, this policy is designed to prevent abuse by email spammers (via an IP address-based deny list) and maintain a healthy experience for operators running the network (via a port-based allow list).
As of August 2024, our policy is quite permissive and allows for a mostly unaltered online experience, with the exception of sending emails via SMTP (ports 25 and 2525) and using Tor.
What should I do?
If you're unable to send emails or calendar invites using your email client, consider using the web-based version of your email provider.
To use Tor (ports 9001 and 9030), please disconnect from NymVPN.
